About the same chances of an Ek being fitted with a manual floor instead of an auto floor.

OK, I finally had some information passed on to me to day in relation to the firewall stamping (well at the Elizabeth Plant). A long time employee I know that works there asked a fellow employee that actually worked on the HK HT HG models in the Body shop. He had the job of stamping the firewall. He said the numbers were stamped into the panel as it lay horizontally in the press. He said the numbers were entered into a machine and it stamped it accordingly. The numbers were NOT in sequence. They were allocated to each job as per broadcast sheet. I am still clueless as to why some have a second letter stamped beneath and some dont. The employee still works there.

One number on top of each other is because the Bodys were made at one plant ie Panel Vans at Adelaide only and then completed at another plant which then got that State Letter stamped . Normally crooked and would break the paint .

This is not the case. As an Adelaide based dismantler I have probably 90% Adelaide build HKTG in my yard. I have only seen two with a double 'A' stamped. I have an HK Premier Adelaide built and sold at United Motors in Adelaide ( I have the books and have had the car for 17 years. It has an 'A' below the 'A'.

What about the Sydney cars with 'S' upon 'S'?

Simon, it is only HD to HK that have the double letters, HT was not suppose to have it.

ALthough some plants did continue into early HT.
