I have just finished rebuilding and EH sedan and took it down the road for the first time. Driving slowely is fine and quiet and even slowely accelerating is fine but if I accelerate suddenly I hear a knock noise from the rear some where. The car does have lowering blocks on it with new insulating pads and leaf spring bushes.
I checked all the bolts to make sure they were tight. ASll seems ok.
Exhaust is clear from body and tight.Universal joint seems OK but is an old one (no slop on it). It almost sounds like the diff is moving(turning )slightly from the torque of the motor maybe .The U Bolts seem tight. Any suggestions.

Probably the tailshaft hitting the floor. The diff pinion will lift up under quick acceleration, especially with lowering blocks.
If it is old or rare - Cut it! http://www.ehlimo.com.au/
