I have a HT and would like to know if I can put a wipper switch from later modle car that has intermittent settings, like out of a xc or something.
Thanks

What you can do is use the dwell controler from an HX/Z/WB. They are designed as an accessory and all you need do is plug the + lead from the dwell unit to the fuse box, earth the dwell unit.

Then find the wire that goes from the switch to the wiper motor low sped, cut in half and join the two ends to the white wires from the dwell controller.

These have a small knob that can be mounted on the dash and away you go.

If you fit a switch with dwell you will still ned to do the above by fitting a dwell control unit.

Have you done this Warren? I tried adding one to mine, followed your instructions to the letter. Rigged it all up with a HK Radio knob so it poked out the choke hole in the dash. All looked factory, but for the life of me, I could never get the sucker to work. Ended up pulling it all out again and putting the blank back in.

Did you have the wires the right way, the white ones?

I have fitted one to HQ wiper motor and they operate the exact same was.

The dwell unit simply earths the wire from the motor for a short interval, the wiper then has to "repark" itself.

You cannot use commodore ones as they switch the + not the -.
