about to bpull the crank sensor on the VR and reading up on it it seems their is a special tool for setting the clearances of the stator etc., is this really necessary and can anyone give the measurements etc so I can make one, I assume they are not obtainable normally.

johnperth, I changed the crank sensor on my vs ecotec (fj ute) and it was a straight swap, no probs with clearances, maybe I was lucky??? AL.
