i have tried to track down noise in my ute which I always thought was wind noise through the door rubbers. Took the ute for a run with masking tape around the doors and quarter vents but noise still persisted, Thinking now maybe the noise is front tyres?? Anyone had any problems noise wise with "Kumho Powermax 769"...195-60-15. Door rubbers are fairly new as are the tyres. Any help ?????? AL.

A little more info might assist. What sort of vehicle, what speed does it start at, does it get worse with speed, does it alter with different road surfaces etc.

I had the same brand/model on VS Berlina wheels on a VS S, but in 205/65/15.
I've still got them - they're currently the transport wheels for my race car.

To describe the sound of the car at 60km/h driving past, they "whoosh" down the road rather than roar - that could very well sound like wind noise too.

I never had a noise prob in the car, as it was always A/C on, windows up & they have good insulation in them as well.
Cheers,

Mick

Thanks for the replys.....tried a different set of tyres with same result, definately wind getting in at window height and still happens with all door to rubbers sealed with masking tape?? Held a piece of rubber hose to my ear and moved the hose around and had a few noises but not enough to warrant the high sounding wind noise. Next to try is the glass loosness in the baily channel? FJ ute. AL.

May be a long shot but possibly wind going past your side mirror? Had this happen to me, was weird as hell but when i changed the angle of my mirror it stopped.
