Hi all,
I have a 72 HQ GTS Coupe the trim code on the tags says: 1843-21X.
After searching the net i have found that 21X meas saddle but so does 11X, 11V and 21Y what is the difference between all the codes? is it the dash pad color, headlining or carpet different? most the trim is saddle color but some parts have been painted over eg: glove box lid dash top and i would like to bring the car back to its former glory. and what do the first 4 numbers mean?

The first 4 numbers are the GMH code for the paint colour of the car, in this case 1843 is Dublin Green.

21X is Antique saddle and brown, 11X is just Antique saddle. The other codes are just cloth inserts in the same trim (it is 11Y not 11V). The difference is some bits of the interior are brown in 21V/Y (carpet and a few bits and pieces). Get a HQ parts catalogue and it is all shown in the front.

Yes it tells you what is what colour. Also gives part numbers inside for each trim part so you can compare which is the same. There is a few different editions, but both those shown (one is a CD repro, one is original) should sort you out.
