Have been having a bit of trouble lately with the old HG. 3 speed manual - column shift (all factory). It continually locks in 1st gear. You can manually shift the linkages to unlock it under the bonnet, but I obviously want to fix the problem.

What am I looking for as the source, and what parts do I need to fix? I haven't done a great deal of work on HG's etc, but I just need to know what I'm looking for.

Anyone help?

Regards

Scott

its the nylon bushes at base of column. they havnt been available for 25yrs. if theyre not too bad , you can push them up firm together & drill & fit short selftapper to secure in place

also they are a "H" pattern shift. & take a bit of practice to slip thru th gate properley. give me th worst column & i have trouble making it jam.
phone me for more info 04121409239

Hopefully if all things go to plan, I'll bring the ute down to Geelong one day next week, catch up and buy a few bits that I need. I'll give you a call beforehand, just to make sure your around.

Regard

Scott
