The problem is that the works inside the winding mechanism has disintegrated. Can anyone please suggest how to fix it or where I could go to get it fixed (In Victoria)? Thanks, Alan.

Thanks, Alan. unusual for left seat to have any probs. are you sure its not just the tilt lever stuck down?? try puln it up. if no go, i will have a good left mechanism. regards DD www.bellarineclassicautos.com.au
