Are the type 1 327's supposed to have a rubber gear shift boot on the console? I'm looking at mine and it's is a black fabric that connects back to the console, not the floorpan & I don't belive the console has ever been out so I am guessing the rubber boot was never installed?

As far as I am aware all console shift 4spd HK-HG had the same rubber boot. There is no difference between early and late GTS327 in this area either that I can remember, it is only the engine in the GTS327 that is type 1 and type 2, not the cars. Warren, Davo or someone else might have more info for you though.

I'm with HK1837. AFAIK all HGK/T/G console shifters, including the Opel M20 had the same rubber boot.

Those without console were different.

The top section of the console on ALL 4 speed cars from HK to HG have the same rubber boot. The lower boot is for Saginaw only and is the same for all HK to HG with console shift and saginaw.
