Does the Saginaw gear box need the tunnel hump, or is it just the Muncie? Or vice versa?
My HT GTS was originally a 186S 4 speed Opel, which went by the wayside years ago. I want to put in a 350, will a Saginaw take this and fit without modifying anything? Engine will be bog stock and car is just for cruising. Thanks.

Muncie does too.
If it is just for cruising a TH350 will fit with no mods other than drilling a hole for the speedo cable, but you'd have to do this for a Saginaw anyway. Muncie you don't, it has a RH side speedo.

Thanks, HK1837,
I have rebuilt and refitted the manual pedal box, so really have my heart set on a 4 Speed, any suggestions without tunnel modifications?

3 spd manual column shift! You can still use a TH350 with manual brake pedal.

I did have a Muncie once in a UC where we turned the selectors on the side of the box upside down so the shift rods cleared the tunnel. It changed the H pattern so 1st was left down, 2nd left up etc. Might work on a HK-HG, you'd have to get under one and look

They won't fit either, require even more mods. Muncie comes the closest as you don't need to drill another speedo cable hole. Saginaw needs the hump but the Muncie does too. The only V8 manual that will fit without any floor mods is a V8 3spd.
