Hi guys, Can you tell me what number the Melbourne body numbers started from on the big ID plate? Eg was 000001M tha first Melbourne car or did they start from a different number? Thanks..

From memory it was 1M, it is the sequential number of HK's built at Dandenong, this was the number used to track the cars on the assembly line on a Dandenong body. What i'm not sure of with these was how they tracked the Elizabeth bodies on the Dandenong assembly line, ie what number was used and also was the Elizabeth body assigned a Dandenong sequence number or not as it never appeared on the ID plates unless the body was constructed at Dandenong. |

O/K so how would I tell the approx build date of a 20***M gts monaro? How long did it take them to make twenty thousand hk's at the Melbourne plant? Thanks
