I'm currently looking at a 2000 LX rodeo 4x4 2.8L diesel - bit of a change from the ss - but it has a "suspected blown head gasket". The sale price has been adjusted to suit, but it has 290km's on the clock and i was wondering if anyone has any info on this happening, whether it is common or whatever. basically whether i should steer clear or if it is worth it. and what would a blown gasket cost to get fixed at a mechanic? i have a couple of diesel mechanic mates so i could probably do it cheaper but it would be good to know a retail value. Cheers!
