On a 4 spd. saginaw, will removing the speedo cable drive gear and housing bolts be sufficient remove the extension housing, or is there anything else involved?

I changed the drive gear in a sagniaw many years ago, so had to remove the extension housing. Unfortunately it has a retaining circlip or something, as we had to start at the front of the box and work our way back.

It took a few hours but we got it back together fine and it ran in the car for another 10 years. just be patient. (a little mechanical knowledge and patience)

We used a factory manual with all the steps in it.

Thanks for the reply. Yes there is a circlip shown in the manual but I was hoping to do it on the car, which looks like it won't happen :(
