Hi Guys,

My brother has a powerglide that after sitting for any longer than a week will start dumping trans fluid all over the floor.

It is fine if he drives it once a week, but any longer than that and the floor gets messy.

Why does it do it and what do we need to do to fix it?

Thanks

Selector shaft seal is my first guess. Converter drains back into the pan and raises fluid level. Could also be a seal on the speedo driven gear or the seal around its housing. The other possibility is the dipstick tube o-ring or a combination of all of them.

If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords?

Couldn't be something as basic as an overfill?
If not that- how about asking a US based forum.
You'll find a lot more Powerglide users over there.

Might pay to put some paper towel on the floor to see if you can narrow down exactly where its leaking from.
Attn camry drivers. The accelerator is the skinny pedal on the right.
