how often do you hear about both headlights blowing at the same time... lucky for highbeams.

Owners handbook should tell you. Odd, both blowing at the same time.
Only time I've ever seen that was on my HQ- voltage regulator had died and the overvoltage killed my globes.

Could it be the same cause- I dunno- I struggle with modern cars!

I've seen that happen on an Astra before. lady was at a servo on a Sunday night with no low beams and servo didn't stock the right ones. Had to use duct tape and cover half the headlight so she could drive with her high beams on.
