Hi everyone....I've finaly decided to lower the old girl. Just need some advice on how low to go and what brand/type of springs to use. I'm looking at putting a V8 in it down the track so I guess its a good idea to use V8 springs so she's ready to go. Should I replace the shockers at the same time? I want it to sit nice but not be ridiculous that I get hasseled by the cops. I live in SA, what is everyones opinion of Industrial Springs?

I would appreciate it if you could email me some photos of your HQs that are lowered so I can get a good idea of how low I want to go.
Thanks in advance!

Putting V8 springs in the front will make it sit too high.
The weight difference isn't much but you may not get the result you want.

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

make sure you fit a shock that is to suit the lower height. I learnt the hard way I had a HZ ute that was lowered by a reptule well known suspension mob their soloution was to just fit a set of what they called super low springs sure the ute sat loooooow but the first big bump the missus hit not knowing how to drive a low car when she was borrowing the ute one day punched the shock out of the lower control arm and bending it like a banana but if that wasn't enough her friend that was in the car with her at the time noticed the shock hanging from under the car and then so I wouldn't find out she took the ute to the same business on her side of town (different franchise) and they proceded to replaced the shock and then gave the ute a wheel alignment because they replaced the lower control arm because the threads were striped ,this is all on the drivers side but then they forgot to tighten the retaining nuts I was at her town house one night and noticed that the right hand entry to her garage was starting to accumulate a lot of tyre scraping marks pattern on the cement on the turn in, she was still using my ute while her car was out of action and then I started to noticed there was a collection of camber spacers out side ,these numb nuts had forgotten to tighten the top control arm retaining nuts subsequently loosing all or a majority of the shims and therefore setting the wheel on such a serve camber that looking at it from the front it looked like it was ready for the speedway with the only thing keeping the control arm from falling in was the bush rod resting on the brake valve and apparently this is not an uncommon problem with many people doing it be it back yarders businesses
