here is a different one. for some time I have been aware the blade fuse to my air conditioner was a bit iffy, the plastic showed signs of overheating. I thought if it got too hot the fuse would blow before any further damage as the fuse should be capable of handling the current and as the current generates the heat the fuse would blow safely.
Well was I wrong. had to pull the under dash cover off to find out if the mirror fuse had blown and noticed the air con fuse had thoroughly melted and plastic was all welded to the frame.
After much difficulty managed to get molten plastic off and remove the remnants of the blades, with no further damage though I had to break off the little nibs each side to get the multigrips on to the blades to yank them (like pulling teeth).
So check yours and make sure you replace the fuse if it shows signs of melting as it took me about half an hour and a stiff neck to get it done.
the mirror fuse was ok so pretty sure it is the door switch thing as power is getting to the connector but is intermittent coming out.
