Hi all My 1969 HT 80737 has a 120 mph dash and an adjustable tachometer redlined at 5500 (red numbers). Is the 120mph correct for a 186s powered car? Also the accelerator linkage rod along the firewall has an arm on either end and no bends in it. I thought 6 cylinder rods had a bend in them between the brake booster and wiper motor? What is the difference between a 6 cyl rod and a V8 rod? Car will eventually run a 307 as the original motor is long gone. Thanks Nev. |

EH's had a 120mph dash with a 149, so it does not sound unusual for a 186s powered car to have one. |

Speedo on ALL HT GTS is 140MPH.
All crash box HKs have the bend in the accellerator linkage, and some of these get fitted to to other 6 cylinder cars, which can have either straight or bend. the bend is to clear the hydraulic clutch master cylinder, which on HT, the GTS 350 is the only one have it.
There are a number of 6 and V8 rods, but V8s have the carby "pull" part closer to the centre of the car compared to 186S and longer compared to 161/186
