Can anyone help with the following please?
a)Did the HX GTS windscreen have the black surround or not?
b)Has anyone used the thermal seals for installing the windscreen and are they any good compared to using Sikaflex?
c)Is the same thermal seal used for the rear window?
Thanks!

To my knowledge the windscreen with the black band surround didn't appear until WB. Since then it has become the standard replacement item for all HQ-WB, except coupes.

I believe that the old thermal seals haven't been used for many years & urethane sealer (Sikaflex brand etc.) is now used front & rear.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Most installers use Sikaflex because of the ease. You can still buy the the thermal seals, and I believe it's still the better way to go. The installers, when using the Flex, put your trims on at the same time. Problem is then the trims are stuck in place. Happened to a member here and he destroyed some of his trims when trying to remove them when the screen shattered a month or two after fitment.
