Can anyone help me. I have a 2009 VE Berlina and have a problem with the heating/air con system. The aircon is always on in the passenger side. The garage managed to extract the following codes.

As the car is in Scotland taking it to a Holden Dealer is not an option.

BO228 Air recirculation flap control motor malfunction. Recirculation air flap position sensor malfunction.

BO418 Servo motor for blend air flaps (Right). Malfunction.

Does any one know where these motors and sensor are located? How difficult are they to get at?

Thanks

I know British Vauxhall sold the monaro and also the VRX which is
basically HSV in the 4 door VE body style. A quick google search shows 24 Vauxhall dealers in Scotland who specialise in the VRX (VE Holden). My guess is one of the Vauxhall dealers could diagnose and repair or source the parts to fix the problem. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I checked and only two in Scotland handle the VXR 8, 'Holden' the others do VXR Astra's Corsa's etc.

I spoke to my local garage and they think the better option would be to go to an Aircon specialist. Does anyone know whither the system is a Bosch setup or not.

Pretty sure it's AI-Thermal (the old air-international).

The HVAC box is located behind the glovebox and the radio section of the dash, so there's a lot to remove to get in there. The blend door, motor & sensors are all mounted to the box (the door being inside, which varies the amount of air directed through the heater core). In your case it sounds like this door simply isn't moving - it's stuck in "full cold" and not allowing any air to flow through the heater core for that side of the car (all air flows through the evaporator core, and heat is added to bring up the temp to the setting you've selected).
Cheers,

Mick

Thanks for the reply.

When I next get the chance I will speak to the garage that specilises in aircon.

Do you know where or if I can get a diagram of the heater and ducts. Is it a difficult job to get into the heater box?

if you are able to download torrents, have a look on the search sites for "VE Service Manual" as there were copies of the service CD floating around in torrent form a while back.
Cheers,

Mick
