Hi Fastlaners,

My understanding is that the Trimatic was released late in the HT production run, and I have seen HTs running column shift Trimatics (presumably factory fitted). Can anyone verify if the floorshift Trimatic was available on the HTs, or whether all floorshift HTs were Powerglide?

Cheers

Apparently an HT GTS sold recently that was factory trimatic, so that would be floor shift.

I can't see why if you had column shift trimatic in HT you couldn't have console shift, most of the items used are the same (or very close) as powerglide and would all be ready to go for HG anyway.

If we all had the same (good) taste, who would buy all the Fords?

Tri-Matic floor-shift in HG had a left-hand shifter, like Commodores & exports. They just used a slightly modified HK/HT Powerglide T-Bar.

I'll have to check, but I can't any reason why a late HT auto optioned with M11 (T-Bar console shift) could not be a Tri-Matic, if they were in full production by then.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Thanks Dr Terry, Warren and HK1837,

Your comments are very helpful and informative.

Do any of you know when the Trimatic was first released or available for HTs?

Cheers
