Looking at a 5/70 HT, would engine number 308H17812 be correct, or there abouts for the year and month.
Any help appreciated.

I'll ask for you.
Note that 17812 is 16811 253 and 308 engines into HT from the start of HT production which sounds about right. Check the cast date on the engine too to see if it is within 1-3 months of 5/70. |

Fits perfectly. Can you also check if it has 308 or HP on the side. There are some very early cast blocks (which will have HP on them) that got built into engines in this timeframe, so it may have an early cast date and HP on it. |
