When fitting a vn 5 litre to a vk kframe can I still use the vk pore steering rack or do I need something different

Commodorenut is your best bet to answer this. I think he recomends using a VN or possible later member and rack.

Yes, VL-VS V8 K-frame (all the same as each other, but different to L6 & V6).
VN or early VP power steering rack with a splined pinion shaft (not square). V6 or V8 doesn't matter.
VL power steer intermediate shaft (links the rack to the column).
VN power steering pump & lines (hopefully sourced with the donor engine).

This is the only way you'll get enough clearance for the exhaust.
