Hi there, I was hoping someone could tell me easy method to remove pinion seal from banjo diff?
I have already dropped drive shaft and removed yoke but I can't seem to be able to remove the seal and I'm worried about damaging something.
Do I have to remove the diff centre or is there an easier method?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards,
Phil

Hi Phil,

Welcome aboard. It's been a long time since I've done one.
We used to just prise 'em out.

I wish we'd had seal pullers- just used a screwdriver. We'd use a thin smear of sealer, not silicone on the outer surface of the seal.
A smear of diff oil on the lip of the seal too.

Here's a youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15zHpz6Zx8c

Hi, Phil get a centre punch and mark the front of the nut and the pinion as to do it back up to the same spot as not to change the pre load on the bearing as to tight will collapse the spacer as its ment to do.
