hay there

I have just got a 82 WB Kingswood with the original 202 blue engine in it and realised it as a locked diff . What diff could i get to replace it that would be good for cursing. Also what gear box could you get that would bolt straight into her so i could get rid of the 3 speed column shift.

Just find another WB 6cyl ute or van diff in 3.36 or 3.55 (yours will be 3.55). A HQ to HZ 6cyl ute/van banjo will fit too, you can even use your brakes plus even your axles if the banjo is a fine spline. HQ to WB V8 ute or van diff will fit too but will need a V8 tailshaft as well.

As Crowe says an aussie 4spd 6cyl box in M20 3.05:1 1st gear is the go. All you need is:

Box
Shifter to suit your seat(s) (bench seat shifter is different to buckets)
Reverse switch wiring harness (plugs in under the dash).

Copy off an original 4spd or t-bar HQ-HZ for the EXACT hole dimensions and location, plus drill the hole for the reverse wiring harness.

If you can grab a floor shift WB column and change it too.

If you just want the stick out the floor the original rubber boots are around. If you want to run a conole Rare Spares sell the weld on brackets plus they even have full repro consoles but you'll find an original HJ-HZ one at a swap meet, just buy the manual insert and boot from Rares.

If the 4spd you get is pre HX just attach the wire to ground that was on the 2/3 shift select on the 3spd side cover. Or put the 3spd side cover on the 4spd.
