Do all red 6 cylinder engine use the same harmonic balancer?
Mines developed a leak, I think from memory the seal collapses and wears a groove in the balancer?
looking at having a replacement when I get around to the job if needed,
Although the engine has only 43000 miles from new, may only need a new seal.

Thanks

Yes, all Red Holden 6s use the same balancer & so do early Blue 173s. The later engines have a differently located timing tag & the Blue/Black 202s use a heavier balancer.

If your still unsure, after fitting, just check TDC by inserting something down the spark plug hole to check the piston position against the timing mark itself.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
