Does anyone know the facts on hk 307 speedo cable hole position. The hk brougham 307 im working on has the hole near the wiper motor but also has a factory hole near the brake booster. Is this correct? I figure they press the firewall and the hole near the booster is pressed with it but then its decided if its a v8 car later and they put that hole in along the assembly line? Does that sound right?

Yes, that's about right. Feel the inside of the hole. There is usually quite a burr. The hole would have been cut with a chassis punch or maybe even a holesaw. Whatever was used, it's a fairly rough hole compared to what you'd get from a press punch and die.

As above V8 hole is in addition to the 6cyl hole. Unused hole gets a blank speedo cable grommet. Same with HQ-WB TH400/350 hole and integrated A/C holes.
