What can happen is the throttle body idle hole gets clogged up with muck.
Looking at the throttle body flap, just above it is some nooks with holes inside them, get a spray can of throttle body and carby cleaner and shoot that area clean, as it has a idle hole that can get blocked up in their.
And just clean the whole thing up flap and all.

I have just fixed this type of issue on a WK supercharged 6, and have fixed it on over a dozen different cars in the past (VS-VY V6s).

If it cuts off clean (ie no missing or hesitation) then it's usually always spark.

If it does it only when hot, then it's normally the crank sensor - easily confirmed by pouring cold water down the front of the motor.

But doing it cold as well - that's tough to find, but I've managed to track it down each time, and every time I found it, it was the plug going into the DFI module under the 3 coils.
Some were simply loose, and tightening the bolt cured it. Some were dirty, and a squirt of cleaner & refit several times cured them for years, but on several occasions I've found the very front wire - the green one, has too much tension on it, and pulls out of the connector a little, creating a poor connection, then heat generated off that melts the plastic, and it just hangs there, ready to go open circuit over whatever bump comes up next. It could go days without happening, or it could happen 5 times in 1km like the WK suffered.
Each time wiggling the DFI plug (effectively pushing that wire back in a bit) allowed it to re-start, on each of those cars.
Hunting the wreckers for a replacement connector to fit in, and about 1 in 4 cars there had seen the same damage, so I think it's becoming quite common as they age.

So I'd start looking there if it's cutting out cleanly (like you've turned off the key).
Cheers,

Mick

So since the CAS (I'm assuming in the first post acs is CAS) you've mow changed the DFI module, undone it's connector & checked all the pins in the plug, and possibly changed the coil pack too?
Cheers,

Mick
