On a mate's behalf:
VR Commodore. Stock engine & management system except that it has a Memcal chip with no immobiliser.
The ex left the igntion on, and hasn't started since.
It cranks well enough, but no spark at the plug leads. Fuel pump is working, he has fuel to the injector rail. Any pointers to look for? I'm going to have a look this weekend.

Grab an injector while you crank it over. If the injector isn't clicking, then I would blame the crank sensor. If the injector does click, then I'd be looking at the DFI module under the coils.
Also try undoing the bolt that holds the wiring plug into the DFI module, and remove/replace the plug a few times to clean up the connections.
If you have a multi-meter, do a voltage check at the injectors too - one wire should the 12V+ at all times when the ignition is on. The earth gets switched by the PCM/ECM. If you don't have 12V+ there, check the relay marked "IGN" and the engine fuses (all in the engine bay fuse box). |
