Guys
I got asked this today but don't know the exact answer as I've never taken notice - to me they always went in the bin and I only ever kept HK or Monaro stuff.
Is there a structural difference between HT-HG Premier and Brougham grilles? They all have different part numbers. Are they like HQ and others with different paint schemes but the same basic part? Or are they actually different in some way? |

to my knowledge the premier and brougham grilles are the same basic design for each model except the badge mounting holes, hence different part nos. the ht has more vertical bars than the hg, 4 to 3 I think, and a tighter mesh pattern. the mounting holes and support rubbers are the same.

just looked at a couple of photos and I realized that the prem and brougham don't have grille name badges for the ht-hg so don't know why the part nos would be different.

I have an HT Prem & HG Prem grille here in my shop & the only difference is where the various black-outs are located.

Thanks Terry. This is what I expected. Mate has a HT Prem with no grille, found a mint HG one and wanted to know if it would fit. |

The Brougham grill extended below the bumper bar in some of the models....not sure if it was one piece or a seperate piece. Edited by user Friday, 14 July 2017 4:27:55 AM(UTC)

HT has the premier badge on the grille, HG doesn't. HG had the blackout originally but usually faded away by now. Structurally the same grille though. |

It seems both the HT Prem & the HT Prem grilles have blackouts, but in different areas. Also I believe that both Premiers got a grille centre badge, but the HG Brougham does not. Yes both the HT and HG premier had the centre badge but not the brougham. I was talking about the HT premier badge on the passenger side of the grille. The HG premier doesn't have it. Don't recall HT premier grilles being blacked out.

The blackouts for the HT were far less & mainly around the edges. I misunderstood your comment re the Premier grille badge. AFAIK there are no dedicated holes in the grille the the HT Premier badge. The Prem badge was mounted on the bonnet for HG, or am I stating the obvious ? Dr Terry |

At the end of the day their the same grille if you add or take off the badge and paint. The brougham part number might be different only because it added the seperate lower under bumper part of the grille. |

Don't think that the HJ and on Statesman grill comes as just one part number, it would have lower PN as well.
