I removed the rubber floor mat from my ute and there is surface rust on the floor. It appears that it was painted with a red oxide primer originally. Is this still available or what should I use instead. I am not a panel beaters or painters backside..... so go easy on me? The windscreen was replaced and a round top screen rubber was fitted instead of a square top rubber so it will be coming out again. I didn't notice at the time until my mate from NZ was using the car soon after the screen was replaced and he got soaked when it rained heavily. Thanks |

I don't think you can buy the red lead paint as it was but you can buy a substitute. Unless you want the original look just buy a modern primer/etch and spray over it. |

Red killrust must be close? But you won't see it anyway as HK said.

As I said you can buy a substitute that looks the same but it isn't red lead. I don't know if it is an acrylic anymore either so make sure you don't try to spray acrylic over it. |
