Im swapping out my old 253 for a reco 253 in my HG pano
both blocks have 253 cast into the block

Both of the engines are on my garage floor and ive just taken the flexi plate off of the old engine and the bolt holes don't line up on the new engine-I know that one hole is off center and ive spun the flexi around and around
Ive even tried a chev flexi and that didn't fit either
there is 2 holden 253 flexis here and neither are lining up, are the manual 253 cranks any different to the auto ones?
So close to getting this thing going!!!Brick wall

Manual cranks are only different in that they have a spigot bush.
I’ll check and see wat I can find. Possibly powerglide flex plate might be different to Trimatic?

Don't beat yourself up about it. Most of the assistance you get here is by people who've made the very same mistake, and taken years to admit to it.
