Hi
I have no idea about car engines, so please forgive me.
I was advised to purchase an engine for a toyota dyna. Which was incorrect and now I wish to sell it. I was informed it is a Holden V8 308 with a VM 660589. The only other number I can find is GM 92062646. It is a 5 litre engine. It also has an auto gearbox.
Can anyone please give me any information about this engine.
Thanks

I believe it will be an early VT 5-litre with sequential injection.

VM in an early Commodore (VB, VC & VH) is not a V8, it is a lo-comp 3.3 6-cyl.

If it is complete with all its ancillaries, ECU & harness etc. it would make a good conversion project for an HQ-WB Holden.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

As Dr Terry says. It could also be newer than VT as well, VS utes continued to use the VM 5.0L until about August-September 2000 whereas VT 5.0L ended mid 1999. The ECU will tell you what its original application was.

That is exactly how it worked. Given the 10,000 number difference I'd be pretty confident it is from a VT not a VSIII.
