Did the HG Premier have a different back window to the Kingswood and Belmont?

All HK HT HG Premiers and Broughams share the same smaller window, as does the Belmont and Kingswood share the larger one.

Thankyou for your replies . So that means that while the cars look the same they are actually very different. Funny how I never noticed that when they were new . I knew that the Monaro was different but I thought that all the rest were the same body . So that means that the C pillar and roof and roof surrounds are also different ?

From memory all the boot lids "interchange" as in will fit, but HK are different (just look at them). Plus all the variations of lux levels have different strips, badges and letter in different places so it is ideal to get another HG Premier one if you can so you don't have to start adding or deleting holes and posts.

Yes, there are several variations of front &rear screens in HK/HT/HG. As mentioned, the Premier & Brougham have a totally different roofline & a smaller rear screen with 4 'square' corners. I think at the time GMH called this an 'Executive' roofline. This was the same for all 3 series (HK/HT/HG).

HK Kingswood & Belmont had a different roofline with more of a fastback slope to it & the rear screen was slightly larger & had its 2 top corners rounded.

The Monaro coupe had a lower profile roofline & its rear screen was rounded on all 4 corners. Again HK/HT/HG all the same.

HT & HG Kingswood & Belmont had another version yet again. Their rear screen was rounded on all 4 corners but larger (taller) than the coupes.

Front screen followed a similar pattern All HK/HT/HG wagons, utes, vans, Premier sedan & Brougham had a windscreen with square (or sharp) top corners & were rounded at the bottom. HK Kingwood & Belmont sedans were the same.

Monaro coupes had a lower profile windscreen with all 4 corners rounded.

Again HT & HG Kingwood & Belmont sedan differed with a windscreen with 4 rounded corners, but larger (taller) than the coupes.

I would like to thank everyone for the input and information that they have shared .I worked on these old girls when I did my apprenticeship but I had no idea of the body changes . Yes I knew the two door Monaro was different but the rest I thought were all the same . So if the HG Premier back window is smaller and squarer , that must mean the roof panel is lower as well ? Which in turn would mean a slightly smaller front windscreen ? Are bonnets interchangeable from HK to HG ? Are doors ?What other secret things should I be aware of ?

Bonnets are basically the same until you try to use the wrong one, and for example have no slots underneath to access the back of the badge.

HK sedan rear doors won’t fit HT-HG plus early HK front doors won’t work with later door trims as the handles are in a different location.

No, the roof is not lower & the front screen is the same height. There is just more 'metal' around the rear glass, leading to a more secluded 'luxury' feel for the rear passengers.

But in the parts catalogues they list 3 different roof panels.

One for HK Belmont & Kingswood.

One for HT/G Belmont & Kingswood

One for all Premiers & Broughams.

This is basically how we described them.

The guy that I brought my car from told me that the Premier roof as it lowers and dips down to the rear screen is more like the Monaro line , as is the c pillar being much wider , in other words the roofs are different as well as the window and c section , also he told me that because of he c section the rear parcel shelf is wider as well ? . I myself have no idea that is why I am asking you experts .
