I need to siphon old fuel from my ute but im stuffed if i can get it to siphon. Im gettin the hose into the tank but no siphon

hose is probably hitting the bottom of the tank and curling up I usually jam a bit of 1/2 " copper pipe in the end to keep it straight about 2" is enough
