Just wondering if the 2nd gear from the 3 speed synchro box (part no 7433830) was used in the crash box or any other gearboxes?

Also part number 9929518, the 2nd/3rd gear external lever between the gearbox and shift rod for column shift. Do any other gearboxes use the same lever/link or are any others compatible. I believe the 4 speed box can be column shifted but the part numbers are different so I'm not sure about compatibility.
TIA.

I doubt it. Very different boxes.

3 and 4spd are very similar boxes (Aussie 3 and 4 spd) but not much is shared between them. The early cases are the same, as are the front bearing covers for the same front seal. The side cover and at least one of the selectiors. The clutch gear is shared between M22 and 3spd. Plus a few wear parts. That shift rod might be common between Holden and Torana but not much else I’d think.

I think that the OP was asking about interchangeability between the M15 box & the old pre-69 crash box. These are very different & no parts will interchange between those 2.

On the topic of using a column shift for an Aussie 4-sp. It will work, sort of !!

R-1-2-3 will become 1-2-3-4 but you will have no reverse. It is located on the other side of the box.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Thank you both. Your answers saved me hours of downloading and searching through parts books.

I will confine my parts search to M15s now. It would have been nice to have a few different gearboxes to check but such is life!
