On a recent trip to Canberra chasing some HK V8 parts I met a Monaro owner that had an original HK clutch actuating cylinder with the bleeder valve.

The bleeder valve was still usable and it was raw steel - not plated like the caliper ones were and it has a different shape at the top compared to the caliper bleeders.

So can anyone confirm if the 7400169 clutch cylinder bleeder valves were raw steel?

I’ve seen a lot of bleeder valves # 7400169 was used on FE all the way to HG and maybe later. Did you find any parts on your recent trek to Canberra. I know a bloke comes from around that part of the country that owned a delete stripe Monaro, V8 too it was, I think he sold it to a bloke out west NSW somewhere. Over the years I got see a fair bit of that car but bleeder valves are not really the sort of thing you take too much notice of. I Wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’d be pretty sure you’ve got the one to do the job.

Thank you for your reply.
The bloke I met in Canberra with the V8 HK Monaro has a lot of NOS parts and he used to own a white 307 HK Premier and a white HQ statesman.
