With those numbers it could be.

What is the model number ? Does it have the factory mounts for the centre console ? Do the paint black-outs (or their remains) look factory ?

Dr Terry
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

Hi mate

Link to bottom of page has a photo of the tags

It has correct hole for floor shift, correct dash, correct steering wheel and horn pad, four holes for bucket seats, paint was correct. Spare wheel cup was missing as it had gas put in it over the years.

As per the above (the guy knows his GVM) the tags are Sandman, if they match the chassis and the other signs are the body is ligit, sounds like a winner to me

Hi,

Thank you. Yes they match the chassis and all other signs point to it. Was also told of someone who has their own personal list. Hoping it may be on his list. Cheers

It's on my list bud.

Is it for sale? You've heard from the master of GVM that it is sandman tags, if you're procrastinating, put up the sale details so one of us can buy it

I have the details also of the car before it ie L417867, it too was a Sandman but had the optional 5.0L engine. It is essentially a Survivor car too although last I saw it they'd ruined it a bit (as far as being a Survivor is concerned) by replacing stripes and a few other things.

Hi thanks for that. Did you buy any chance have any of the details or where it was sold? I’d love to purchase a dealership decal. Thank you

As HHS told you, your car misses out of the cutoff. GMH changed to a new "OneLine" warranty system mid 1978 approx in line with VB production. They printed out a service/warranty report for HZ out of the IBM360 Vehicle Master Listing on 20th June 1978. The report is basic warranty information, just a subset of the production information in the VML database. It was 671 x A3 tractor feed pages for HZ and ended on the PSN L417527, the final vehicles listed were completed on 16th June 1978. At some time later all of these VML service/warranty printouts for LC-UC, HQ-HZ plus some other stuff was microfiched and probably the paper copies disposed of. No one knows what happened to the information for vehicles after mid 1978. GMH probably upgraded to a more modern computer system at some stage and the old VML (that would have been on magnetic tape in the late 70's into the 80's) may have been destroyed. So finding anything out about vehicles after that time is virtually impossible.
