Hi All

Pulled into a wreckers on the way home and have come across what appears to be a HG grill, Torana grill, various 4 speed shifters, Various heads.

Any assistance in some verification would be must appreciated.

Cheers

Yes indeed,

I had to dig them out of the mud and rust, caught a glimpse of a large tiger snake and I'm pretty sure I now have Tetanus.

I didn't have time to look for any part numbers ect and hope someone can assist with just the photos.

Cheers

The V8 Holden heads are off a VC-VK or WB if they are a pair. Can't tell off the photo but the inline 6 Holden head looks like an L head so probably just a 202/3.3 head. All of those are basically junk. The grilles are LH-LX Torana and HG Holden.

Many thanks HK and Smitty.

There is one of the 4 speed shifters with 3 holes in the transmission control mounting assembly as opposed to 2 and a shorter straighter stick....is that the MC6?

It has a couple of chrome components

LX Torana possibly?

The short one with the thick chrome stick is off a Toyota 4/5 speed box.

Off something early I think before they started adding the joiner in the middle of the stick.

I have the GMH Service bulletin for it somewhere in one of the garage shelves (with the rest of the service bulletins.. aka tech lines)
will see if the recollection is correct

Yes looks like late LC 6cyl Torana with aussie M20 and LJ 6cyl with M20 4spd.

On second thoughts, perusing the pics again, I think the stick may have been cut down and re-welded to the lever.
May have originally been a HQ shifter.

I may have got lucky there as I was digging around in an old box and stopped to check out an old Carby covered in rust. I heard it start to move from under the old pallet I was standing on, slowly moved my head for a look and there it was heading off into the long grass. My guess is that it was there the whole time I had my ignorant head buried and I was standing on top its home.

The funny thing is though, I got my third COVID Jab/Booster shot that afternoon and it dropped me for three days. Im not sure which one would have made me sicker....The snake bite or the intentional venom I walked into the pharmacy to get.

On the same snake infested trip I cam across a pile of 186 engines and possibly a smaller unit but as I was in a rush I had no time to get any numbers or have a good look. There was a Seatons engineering bell housing on the smaller red which I can't seen to find any info on?

Seatons bell housing?
What year did the 186 casting number style change?
Flywheel thickness on the smaller red appears to be a heavier gauge?
Any general info regarding the pile of red 6s?

Also found a pile of SB carbs that im pretty sure I have right for ID but just thought I would ask to double check with regards to application ect as the 2376996 1 7/32 model were three of.

some had numbers under the side brace and some didn't?
years?

I numbered the images and placed arrows all over the place to hopefully make life easier and if any one can give any feedback it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Th "thinner" flywheel appears to be a flex plate for an automatic transmission.

The carbies are mostly HQ/HJ era, there are few variations pictured. No. 2 is HJ. No. 4 I think is Falcon.

The best ID number or Bendix-Stromberg carbies is the 2-xxxx style number, they are well catalogued.

can't comment on "Seaton ?" bell housing or the 186 font change.

All 186 except XU1 had an L head. Didn't matter if they were standard 186 high comp or 186 low comp engines, they all used the same head just dished pistons on the low comp engine. 202 was the same (again except XU1) and the heads are the same chamber just the different rocker arrangement thus a 202 head works fine on a 186, just need the different pushrods to suit the fixed rockers.

The 186 font changed from memory at the HR to HK transition 161 did too I think.

The Seatin alloy thing will be an adaptor to fit a Holden 6 into a Landrover or similar.

Again most of it is junk. There might be some $ in the 186 bottom ends if they are not all corroded in the bores or already 60 up, and some of the sumps might be worth something to someone but junk if they are dented much.
