Anyone have any console shift HT or HG Trimatics in the shed? Just looking for codes of the ID tags.
There should be 2 x different 6cyl boxes and 2 x different V8 boxes for console shift (with LH shift lever).
Interested also if anyone has any of the 3 x 6cyl or 2 x V8 column shift boxes and you know exactly where it came from. Especially the 186S box or the commercial with 202 box.
Just helping confirm a few codes. |

Thanks Terry
HW and HA are the two I was really looking for.
I don’t think there was an auto option on HG with 173. Not shown in the Engineering or the Assembly Plant instruction drawings. If there was an M40 option on 173 in late HG then agree it’d be HJ. |

My boss at work back in 1971-73 had a late HG 173 Trimatic ute, I remember it well. It drove really well for such a 'poverty pack' car. Dr Terry |

There you go. Makes sense it'd be just the 186's Trimatic. I just checked the HG Eng Tech Specs and can confirm that there is info in there for the Trimatic and 173, like stall speed ect for 173 and 202. Also there was no automatic option for any HT-HG with 130ci engine. All LHD HG automatics were Powerglide too, no Trimatics. Edited by user Wednesday, 18 October 2023 5:13:19 PM(UTC)
