Hi All,
I've seen some photos of a HX GTS with the 5.0 badge on the right side of the boot.
Was this an option, or factory standard on all of them?

It’s an option, as the standard engine was a 4.2L. Pretty sure the standard 4.2L badge and the optional 5.0L badge was on the right hand side as there was a big ugly GTS transfer on the left side. |

Thanks for that. To be clearer, what I meant was if the car has a 308 was that badge always fitted or were some cars delivered with a 308 but no badge?

The 4.2L or 5.0L badge was optional on Sandman in HX, not sure about GTS. Sandman was because of the transfer on the tailgate which was standard at the start of HX but they added a delete stripe option DL7 by the end of 1976 (as many buyers didn’t want the stripes and logos) and I think the engine size badge was then standard with DL7. Not that sure about GTS though, if there even was a delete blackouts option. Although the HX GTS blackouts were much more than HJ they weren’t as in your face as Sandman.
Most of that is probably academic though as very few cars were actually ordered. If the 4.2/5.0 badge was standard on GTS then probably 99% of cars got it as so few cars were actually ordered, then whomever ordered it then had to choose to delete the badge. |

Thanks for that. Given where it looks like this one is, centred vertically not more to the bottom edge, I don't think I'll be adding it.
