VZ V6 auto. It's been going crazy. Dad had it while we were away, and complained of a 'high idle'
Had the 'Check engine-electical" light come on. I had the battery out, refitted it and the light hasn't come back on since.

The real issue is the when I start it as usual, that's fine. Put it in reverse and **** me. Leaps forward without me even touching the accelerator. Then stalls. Did it 3 times.

Did it cold today, and again after a 30 km commute. Gearbox shifted fine all the way. This afternoon, it did it in Drive. Limped it home and at some points it was like the transmission was stuck in O/D. Shifting it manually it it was better.

Got home and it stalled in the driveway. Haven't been game to move it since.

Any thoughts? Was wondering if it was a throttle position sensor?
Attn camry drivers. The accelerator is the skinny pedal on the right.

2 things come to mind from your description above ...
trans issue (that is, its playing up as its internal control module is screwed) or there is an engine sensor issue bt not the TPS, another one.
(don;t think its engine mechanical as it is running and you report no strange engine noises) that is affecting the trans as well...

I would be getting it to someone with the requisite diagnosis gear for the VZ, needs someone who knows these
