Just took my WB for a wheel alignment. It’s got power steering and a V8. Upper control arm bushes are worn out (25 years isn’t too bad I guess). However they said it had no shims left in it (for camber adjustment?) and that you need to spread the chassis rails back out? Is this normally handled w you would fix this issue? Sounds Like a job for a Hydraulic Spreader, a Smash/Panel shop should have one, talk to them about it.

Anyone actually had to do this? It’s been on the road all its life as a car. Only 270000km on it. Plenty of people have had chassis cracking issues but I have never actually heard of anyone having to bend the chassis to do a wheel alignment.

Try a different alignment shop after you've fixed the bushes. |

I did not know back them days 1985 that the Machanical people were all just an idiots in my town. i listened too them ? sadly, it was all stock standard or they had a fit. If i knew better i would of just said it's fine as i want you to put more neg camber on it anyway. The shimms stack start to get too thin or too many on one side, so yes some times they do have to bend such back. Just look at the shim stacks, if they are getting thin maybe they are correct.
