Hello Gents, Im after some feedback on real world experience with Rack and Pinion conversions to Hq-Wb vehicles, looking at alternatives for a HQ with a HZ chassis, anyone used Rackmaster? Will probably use an Astra pump!

There are a few others out there too like these below. https://www.caeperformance.com.au/newproducts.php

https://www.rodshop.com....for-hq-hj-hx-hz-wb-hold
Whether they work OK or not I have no idea. I wouldn't spend the $ as HZ and WB steering is pretty good and power steering boxes aren't that expensive and you can buy exchange rebuilt ones for less than $500, no need for the pump setup if you are planning on using the Astra pump. I spend the $ on a Rodtech IFS front end for my HK GTS but they don't do one for W size Holden. Example: https://mpsteering.com/?...man-re-manufactured-copy |

I saw a conversion video online and that Astra pump seemed excessively noisey! Are they all like that?

I have an Astra pump in a VZ timeattack car, you just have to get the right starter delay setup then they fire up just like an Astra would, you can buy the delay setup of Ebay, works perfect.
