All LH had cable throttle. They were the first, then the HJ introduced the cable later that year.

That’s how you pick LH V8 (and HJ) intakes from HQ ones. The have an extra threaded hole for the cable throttle spring return bracket.

1990 when I bought my L34 Torana and I thought it was the cable being the reason why I could not put the Holley on my HX sandman 5.0L.
I went to try and put the Holly on my HX but could not do it for some reason.
So I thought it may of been the Cable setup as to why.

Cable throttle would probably have been easier with a Holley than a HQ linkage. Getting the right throttle movement was the hardest bit. I always had trouble with converted 6cyl cars, people always seemed to use the 6cyl pedal arrangement, not change it to be as per a V8 car.

.. common problem with people doing 6/8cyl swaps on any Holden car (Holden thru to Commodore)

ALWAYS change the cabin pedal setup too
