I have a 1974 HQ statesman with the build number EHQ 160XX8 and the chassis number AHQ00XX2A. Has it been in a wreck or something or did it come like this from factory? Cheers

Chassis change. It’ll be a Pagewood (NSW) body and tags with an Elizabeth (SA) chassis. Firewall number will be reasonably close to the chassis number in the compliance plate.

Ah awesome! Thanks for the clarification. Any reason why they do it like this?

Great...

How do you distinguish between the Pagewood plant and Elizabeth plant?

The Tags. The A and the S on the chassis numbers are dead giveaways too.
