Good evening, I am after some help please with the timing with the crank shaft and camshaft gears please on a 253 Holden v8. Is some one able to give me a detailed guide (step by step) on how to fit a engine pro camshaft part no. Epc11208 with an adjustable crank shaft gear. I don't have a degree wheel. I have been told that I should set the crank gear at +2 with the engine at TDC which if timed correctly the camshaft would have no.1 exhaust valve open.I would appreciate some correct advice and an easy point by point guide. Many Thanks.

What brand crank gear is it? What does the cam card say for installation? You are doing yourself a disservice by not having a degree wheel (which is easy to make at home) to ensure the timing marks on the cover and balancer match or a dial indicator and stand (not so easy to make but a very handy tool to own) Edited by user Tuesday, 25 March 2025 7:06:55 AM(UTC)
