Team - new to forum and need some help
Can you decipher the following tag please
model HQ80269M
Body 22853B
Trim 1850 10C
Paint 568 15413

Car seems to be B 1972 HQ SS 253, infra red , hounds check interior but the M code in model line is throwing me?
All advice appreciated

The M after the model code? That just means its a manual transmission. It certainly is a HQ SS in Bluey colour (GMH marketing called it Infra Red but internally it is called Bluey, the purple cars were called Smokey and the Green Lettus).

Yep green... Lettuce (not Lettus) if I recall correctly , from the days at GMH when colours were weird, just weird names

there is even a colour (official too) available on LC Torana called 'Barney's Shirt'!

No it was Lettus, Smokey and Bluey. They even printed those names on the Broadcast Sheets. I have copies of at least one sheet of each colour. They later changed back to the regular way of doing it.

In the retail world they were known as Infra Red, Ultra Violet & Lettuce Alone.

Yes they were the marketing/retail names. GMH called them different names internally.
