Can anyone tell me if the XB ute ever came out with the 351 motor in it? I did an Internet search but can't find what I am looking for.
Thanks.

Yes they came out with the 351 in them. If auto they will have an FMX. If manual either borgy or top loader 4 speed depending on when it left the factory. It will also have a nine inch diff. Check the compliance plate to see what type of engine they had

Thanks for that - exactly what I needed to know. A mate has an XB ute rolling chassis and I have a 351W + C6 sitting in the shed - they seem destined for each other!
If anyone has any advise re problems we might run into please let me know.

Not that it makes a hell of a lot of difference but the XB came out with a Cleveland rather than the Windsor that you have laying around.
I very much doubt that your compliance plate will show a K code engine though. Very rare in the XB's and only ever

I assume that means problems getting it registered if it has a 351 [W or C] but compliance plate not a K code.

Sorry if I mislead you. You will have no problems fitting a 351 to an XB regardless of what engine it originally came fitted with and what is on the compliance plate.

As an example if you had a 6 cylinder XB and wanted to fit a V8 then there are no ha

The C6 is going to take a bit of fiddling to fit properly. They are a big, heavy box and the tranny tunnel is going to need a bit of modifying to get it to fit properly. You might also have a few dramas if you plan to run extractors as I read somewhere
