Hi guys i want to know if a XF 4speed manual 6 cyl(sedan) fit into a XB 351 auto coupe, can it be done?

Teah it can be done but why not go for a later T5 instead eg. I used ED T5 behind 302c. Used adapter kit supplied by dellow and had flywheel modified to take 11inch RPM race series clutch. T5 (6 cylinder version) input shaft is same as standard single r

is 5 speed gearbox used in EA through ED (BW-T50D). The version I used was from 6 cylinder ED falcon. The input shaft is the same size as xf single rail. I am thinking of a similar conversion for my XB coupe, to replace the existing single rail. The info in this thread was really useful for me too but I have a couple of questions still:
1. Why use the T5 from a 6cyl and not a V8 version? 2. Will a T5

I only used 6 cylinder version in my example as it was what I used. You could use the v8 version but i think the input shaft is different...and possibly they are not as available as 6 cylinder version?? I think the box itselt is still the same. From wh

Thanks for the info, I'll start looking for a gearbox now. If the 6cyl is strong enough I'll just use one of those, as they are only around $500 secondhand versus $2500 for a V8 T5 (in Perth anyway).
At that price I can afford to blow a few!

I think that you have 2 options with the bellhousing if you use an XF-EL T5. The first is to buy a V8 T5 bell housing either from Ford, Dellow or CRS & the second is to buy a V8 toploader/single rail bellhousing and a sandwich plate that bolts the T5 to t |
